Why won't you let me believe?

Why is it that so many of us seem to carelessly go ahead, not looking left or right, not caring where they are heading, not knowing, not caring to know, not dreaming, not hoping, not crying, not laughing...? Why is it that so many of us are just afraid to care? Because it's so much easier not to?
Is it indeed a world of quitters, takers and indifference? Is that it?
I just started not giving up...
